Torn Meniscus: You cannot know this without the help of an mri. It is worse than a knee sprain.

Not exactly: No technically a torn meniscus is not really a knee sprain. Sprains refer to injuring a ligament, in the knee this would refer to the acl/pcl or either of the collateral ligaments. Meniscus is a cartilage cushion but certainly can be torn. Honestly, unless you get an MRI there is no real way to know if you have torn your meniscus. But there are other reasons for your knee pain.
