Maybe.: As long as it is an isolated mcl tear it will heal uneventfully. It could be a medial meniscus tear, though. A careful exam can usually distinguish between the two, but in some cases an MRI is needed to rule out meniscal injury. Pain with walking or bending can be seen with both.
