Ligament/cartilage: A knee sprain is a stretch or tear of a ligament. A ligament connects a bone to a bone. 4 major ligaments of the knee- ACL, PCL, MCL, PCL. The meniscus is a C-shaped cartilage structure that sits between the femur and tibia. One on the outside/lateral meniscus and one on the inside/medial meniscus.
