Steroid treatment: The treatment of nephrotic syndrome in adults using steroids (s) is usually for 12-20 weeks. The n response to s is variable, depending on the renal disease being treated. Minimum change disease responds better than focal sclerosis. If s do not resolve proteinuria, other agents may be used. Please speak to your nephrologist for more information concerning you particular case. Good luck.
