Type of infection?: This type of treatment is usually used for chronic sinusitis . Side effects is related to the duration of Prednisone. If used for less than a week, you are likely ok although you may have trouble falling asleep with 30 mg daily. I do not use prednisone for acute sinusitis.

Suggest you get a 2nd opinion. Post-nasal drips from allergies or asthma aside from reflux are some of the more common causes for a cough. If Prednisone did not help the cough, then it is unlikely to be from asthma. Consider an allergy consult.
