Modified Bass tech: Assuming your gums are normal, you should angle the soft bristles at a 45 degree angle to the gum line and gently go back and forth for about 10 stroks per small area. If you have receeding gums than i recomend brushing from gum to tooth. Also, small circular motions are good. Make sure to always floss before you brush and to brush the roof of your mouth and your tongue.

Brush gums & teeth!: Imagine your toothbrush cut in half: half on your gums/half on your teeth. Plaque forms at the gumline. Get a sonicare battery operated electric toothbrush for about $20 on amazon. Pressure-sensitive; it won't allow you to press to hard and cause recession. Great investment! lower front teeth horizontally & vertically since this is a high-plaque spot for most. See a dentist for more help!
