Scans don't ShowPain: Most back pain from sustained muscle contraction. All muscles inhibit internal blood flow during contraction & sustained contraction induces pain. Ct & MRI scans/images do not show pain, only limited anatomical information. Hydrocodone is a narcotic, does not eliminate pain but may ↓ perception of intensity some, very individually variable. Best: personal detective work & knowledgeable assistance.

Pain: Autofusion can occur in cases which have prior trauma. When this happens the vertebral bodies will fuse together at the facet joint. Should the problem become severe a surgical consultation is required however a milder case of the condition can be relieved by a combination of muscle relaxants, physical therapies, massage and anti inflammatory medications.
