Salivary gland?: Under the mandible are lymph nodes, submandibular gland, and muscles. Salivary gland pain usually worse with meals. This gland can also have tumors, 50% of which are cancerous. If pain continues for 2-3 weeks see ent.

Perhaps: Swollen lymph nodes can be the result of allergies, sinus drainage as well as tooth, jaw and gum infections. If you have sinus issues or allergies that is probably the cause. Other causes can be impacted wisdom teeth. If it has been more than 6 months since your last dental check up see your dentist to rule out dental problems.
