Depends: Lymph nodes in the neck are the result of inflammation above or near that particular node. Pimples, eczema, sore throat, ear infections--many things can do it. But if the node gets larger than an almond and doesn't start shrinking in a couple of weeks, go see an MD (not a nurse practitioner)
