Yes: It's not uncommon for it to take relatively high doses of 3 or 4 different meds to control high bp. Inderal (propranolol) is a beta blocker, Captopril an ace inhibitor; they work in different ways to control your pressure.

BP will get better: Let us see how you do with combination of Inderal (propranolol) and captopril. Older people and african americans respond better with addition of a diuretic or a calcium channel blocker. Also decrease salt intake. Aerobic exercise such as brisk walking helps. Decreasing alcohol intake and if you are overweight even loosing 10 pounds helps. Please google dash diet for information on eating better.
