Ativan (lorazepam) dose: If a doctor ordered .25mg Ativan (lorazepam) and 2 mg was given "by mistake, " it would not be "normal." still, 2 mg Ativan (lorazepam) might be prescribed & given in some instances. The person could become drowsy or even go to sleep. When dosed in an er where observation is available, this would not be dangerous. Longer term, the person needs comprehensive help for the "work stress" and sleep difficulty.

Lorazepam: This is an acceptable practice and dose, however it could have been lower. Less is always more. Sleeping issues may be a bigger part of your problem. Solve them and work may get less stressful. Try relaxing exercises, dawnbuse.Com has great resources for decreasing stress.

Ativan (lorazepam): This is not uncommon. At the emergency room they give medications based on their assessment.

Yes: But this is only a short term fix and you need to see your physician as soon as possible. With your history it appears that you have a lot of things going on. You need a complete and through evaluation and you need to be completely forthright with your doctor. 2 milligrams is not an unusual initial dosage bid.

2 mg ativan (lorazepam): 2 mg is acceptable dose on high side. If it felt too much don't take all. May be half. Also this should be only fow few day for what we call adjustment disorder after that you probably don't need it and other treatment strategy is needed.

1-2mg reasonable: For mild anxiety prevention 0.5mg lorazepam, Ativan appropriate. For significant anxiety 1-2mg appropriate every 4-6hr.
