Eagles maybe: This condition is very rare. Many xrays, dental panorexes, cone beam cts, and plain head and neck films show elongated styloid processes thought to be the culprit in neck pain but most simply aren't. Injection may seem like a 'simple' fix, but here there are vital structures (carotid artery, jugular vein) at risk. Careful ct evaluation of a possibly injured carotid should be undertaken first.

Limited: Eagle's syndrome is an elongated bony process off the base of your skull. An injection of local anesthetic or steroid can provide temporary relief, but surgical removal is the only definitive treatment if one is needed.
