Weigh Risk -benefit: Contrast/radiation have some side effects. If an MRI is needed for key diagnosis or follow up of your medical problem, it is important than its side effects- typically your providers should discuss about the risk and benefits of the tests with you. Contrasts exit our body via kidneys, so, may damage kidney if too much load or poor function already. Should be OK if normal kidneys. Ask ur Dr as well

Very safe...: As long as you do not have significant kidney disease, which can be associated with a rare complication not involving the kidneys you should be absolutely fine. Even this is not a lot of Gadolinium (MRI contrast). Even this warning is something people were not aware of until pretty recently. Also, MRI does not use radiation, so not a concern.
