Depends: Spinal cord injury does not directly affect fertility but depending on the level of injury (the higher in the spine or neck) the more likely that there will be complications of pregnancy or fertility treatment. If the injury is around t6 or above the possibility of autonomic dysreflexia is high. A good evaluation by an expert with experience with pregnancy after sci.

Might be needed: Paraplegia does not prevent pregnancy but it also doesn't prevent infertility. What caused your paraplegia was there any associated abdominal injury? Have an infertility specialist check you out if you have been trying a while.

Pregnant: People with spinal cord injuries can absolutely get pregnant. Depending on your injury there may be some special considerations to keep in mind, and for this reason you may want to meet with a physical medicine & rehabilitation (pm&r) physician who specializes in spinal cord injuries (sci). You, like anyone else, can also have difficulty getting pregnant, and you should see your ob/gyn for this.

Talk to your doc: Talk to your gynecologist about the appropriateness of this. Your husband should be checked too. Issues can occur in either mate.
