ABC's: Airway, breathing, circulation. These are the tenets of "in the field" first aid. They establish an airway (can be basic or actual endotracheal tube), breathing (mouth to mouth or bag/mask ventilation can also give oxygen) and (circulation: chest compressions)... That is generally all that is at their disposal.

See below: First the emt's will ensure that the patient is breathing, they will then probably provide supplemental oxygen and make sure that the blood pressure is maintained. After that they will further stabilize the patient and then transport to a local hospital where they can evaluate and treat the patient.
