Is it possible to have really high potassium in your labs, but still have low magnesium? or are the two linked?

Not linked: 'really high' potassium suggests a lab error, as that is often a medical emergency and your dr would have intervened. Most potassium lives inside the cells and it is a '1+' cation. Magnesium has larger stores in the body, so a low level suggests depletion and need for dietary supplementation if severe. Talk to your dr about these concerns.
