Im having symptoms of low potassium or low magnesium. i had labs in early november but dont think my magnesium was included in cmp draw. potassium was ok at the time. can my doctor test my magnesium?

Labs: Serum magnesium is a common lab test. The serum magnesium may be normal but we usually have no way of knowing what the intracellular level is. When characteristic symptoms are present I still recommend a magnesium supplement if the patient doesn't have kidney disease.
