Pap showed ascus. this was a pap done right after i took diflucan (fluconazole) and finished monistat regimen for a bad yeast infection, is it hpv or benign?

ASCUS: Ascus is the name for skin changes that are not predictive or diagnostic of hpv or infection. It is just what it is: atypical squamous cells of unknown significance. There is no way to answer your question with any valid facts. I would just follow the advice of your gyn for further testing and monitoring.

Both ?: The hpv test is separate from the ascus diagnosis. A separate test should be done if it was not already done to test for hpv. Inflammation can contribute to ascus. If hpv is positive with ascus, you should undergo a painless procedure called colposcopy. It allows a closer look at the cervix and may localize the source of the inflammatory cells (ascus).
