Any antimicrobial...: raises the risk of recurrent C. Diff. C. Diff comes about from an overgrowth of this bacteria when other microorganisms (including "good" yeast) that normally keep it in check r wiped out (by antifungals). Antibiotics can do it too, wiping out "good" bacteria of the colon. I m not aware that Diflucan (fluconazole) is worse or better than Monistat in this regard; best to treat what needs to b treated, & hope. GL
