Baking soda: Many years ago the keyes technique was popular. This included hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. This is to kill the periodontal pathogens ( bacteria). It was shown to be no more effective than regular good toothpaste with flouride.

Can be ok: Baking soda can kill some of the bacteria in your mouth. It can leave your mouth feeling good and clean. But it is not more effective than any other toothpaste.. The most important thing is good oral hygiene. Good brushing, flossing and tongue cleaning will get rid of the bad oral bacteria. You can even brush without toothpaste and do a god job cleaning your mouth.
