Excellent Question!: Many people lift weights in a way that may hurt instead of strengthen their shoulders. The one i would definitely avoid is the military press, which can be replaced by shrugs to strengthen the trapezius, low weights in an oustretched arm in scapular plane to strengthen the deltoid, and resisted internal/external rotation to strengthen the rotator cuff.
