Some tips: Count to ten before acting on the urge to impulsively harm someone physically or emotionally. Reduce anger by deep breathing. Breath in deeply & slowly through the nostrils. Hold air in lungs for a 5 count before slowly exhaling through an open mouth. Repeat until you are calmer. Focus on your breathing not what is making you angry. Cognitive behavioral therapy is excellent for dealing with anger.

Lifelong struggle: Dr. Fowler has given you very good advice. What's helped me is reflecting on the difficult struggles that everyone is undergoing, usually unknown to you. If I cannot always control how I feel, I can consciously try to say kind things and/or do small kindnesses to whoever I meet on my road through life. From behavior may come changed attitude. I'm glad you want to change. Best wishes.
