No: It has to do with a drop in sugar (glucose) level. A syncopal episode might arise due to anxiety of patient. Hope this helps.

If you have fasted: Prior to the procedure/surgery and/or you have abstained form having anything to eat post procedure due to bleeding, numbness. Etc. Sure a transient drop in your blood glucose can occur. Similarly, in patients that are diabetic, they can often see a spike in their blood sugar and have a few days of hyperglycemia. Especially with the stress of surgery and if any peri-operative steroids were given.
