Surgeon wants ctscan re:abdo pain/diverticulitis family doc thinks i've had too many 1chest and 1abdo in march and 2 last year should i be concerned?

Radiation from ct: You obviously went to the surgeon with an issue. If your ct in march and 2 last yr were done for the same comp then its a diff story. Only you can tell if this epidose is siimilar to the previous or not. Present your concerns to your surgeon and he/she will guide you in the right direction. Radition dose from cts is very low nowadays. U also have to see if the benefit will outweigh the risks inv.

Balance: You need to discuss with your doctors, the minimal risk of radiation exposure versus the need or importance if you need a ct scan now. Need to know what the physical findings are, your full medical history, and balance the risks of the importance or lack of importance of having another ct scan now.
