Yes: Your doctor wants you to rest your bowels by eating food that is easy to digest and contains a lot of fibers. You should be ok by doing it.

Low fiber: Typically it is recommended to stick to a low fiber diet during and after an attack of diverticulitis, but this is only a recommendation. Once healed, a high fiber diet is beneficial.

Hi doc I have diverticulitis and started drinking clear liquids the last 3 days but when I drink chicken broth it gives me the runs is that normal.
I have a flare of diverticulitis and been running a fever of 100.4 at most. My temp is now 99.4 degrees. Its been staying lower without meds and pain is better . Is that a positive sign? I been to doc recently but not for this. Should I go ?
