A bit unusual: Oral lesions that look like pimples are a bit unusual. Contact allergens or irritation from acid foods can occasionally lead to inflammatory lesions - these are like little red bumps. If they are persistent and painful, medical conditions (psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease) can lead to "pimples" or pustules on the tongue. If persistent more than a week - see a doc.

Tongue pimples: These bumps can become notably red or white and are quite tender for up to several days. While the cause is not known with certainty, most experts feel that local accidental trauma (rubbing, scraping or biting) is a major factor; however, contact reactions to things like certain foods have also been suggested. They are usually not contagious, but if have other symptoms like fever, see you dr.
