Many variables : Not knowing your current weight, dietary macronutrient ratio, caloric intake, genetics or hormone ratios (very important in a 56 year old). It is common for resistance training to halt weight loss and in many cases to increase weight gain given the effects of resistance training on Insulin sensitivity and muscle development. See a nutritionist, sports physiologist or a sports medicine physician.
