A member asked:

Eating 3 eggs per week. is that acceptable for someone with slightly high ldl levels? i see a lot of different opinions on eggs yolk for high patients

A doctor has provided 1 answer

3 eggs / week = OK: Although egg yolks are high in cholesterol, an eating eggs may raise the LDL (or bad) cholesterol, it may also increase your HDL (good) cholesterol levels. In addition, there is some evidence that eating eggs may result in larger LDL / HDL particle sizes which can actually be a beneficial effect. As a young woman at 23 years old, there should be no problem having a few eggs per week.
