Many variables: Low lumbar fractures rarely require surgery if traumatic. If from osteoporosis, not serious but likely going to be painful. As healing progresses past 3 months, 70% will be healed. Discs don't do well with sitting, so sciatica could also be an issue. Take breaks, some nsaids salonpas hot. Consider seeing doc for steroids before trip. Epidural could be preventative. Dosepak on hand as backup.
