You sure?: Awfully young for osteoporosis. First of all, cut your osteoporosis risk by 4x by stopping smoking. Also smoking accellerates ddd. Do yourself a favor and stop. Schmorl's nodes can appear as acute fractures. This and multi level ddd point toward lumbar scheuermann's disease. A very treatable problem, but might require multi level fusion if no surgical fails. Fyi--5x surg complications in smokers.

Depends: If the endplate fracture has not resulted in any significant loss of vertebral height, then chances are that you will heal fine and not have any long term problems from the fracture. Herniated discs, if mild, can be a very normal finding of aging, which, like joint arthritis, can eventually cause pain with further aging, but otherwise may not cause any problems at all.
