At least 6 weeks: Fractures take at least 6 weeks to heal, then count on atleast 6 more weeks to regain the strength to the area. A transverse process fracutre is not a bad fracture, it does not arequire surgery.

Not serious: Thankfully transverse process fractures do not affect the stability of the spine nor the nerve canal, so they are not serious and do well. They can be quite painful because they are the site of insertion of some of the muscles that extend the spine. 8-12 weeks is the typical healing time.
