I am 29/m, my mri scan says i have a wedge compression fracture at l1 and l3-l4=12mm l4-l5=12mm. rest all 13mm. can i be able to take up sports?

L1 compression: fracture....discuss this with your doctor. Make sure you know the cause. (trauma, infection, metabolic bone disease-low calcium or vitamin D etc) If you have pain this could limit your activities. You should try to stay active. Swimming might be good. I'd certainly avoid outdoor ice hockey, ice fishing, bob sledding or other activities that would take you thousands of miles from your doctor !

Probably: If the compression fractures are old, then the limiting factor is how hard you can exercise. Try to start with swimming or reclining bicycle to build up your stamina. Ask your Doctor for advice. If these are acute injuries, then your Doctor needs to look for the cause. Except for traumatic injury, a person your age should not have compression fractures.
