Misunderstanding : CRP or c-reactive protein is a non-specific blood test only useful in the context of clinical interpretation of other labs or for following activity of certain diseases. Auto-immune diseases, cancer, infections, can elevated CRP in liver disease. But CRP can be elevated by far more innocuous conditions than the possibilities mentioned. It is never diagnostic for liver disease by itself.
