It is best for you to contact your insurance companies directly on your own, and when you find a surgeon, who will be actually performing the procedure, have them inquire. Better yet, you can have the surgeon actually submit a predetermination claim.

Medical: Orthognathic surgery, surgery to reshape jaws, is covered under some medical insurance plans, but not others. Every procedure has a code, and there are many for jaw surgery. Ask your dentist to refer you to an oral surgeon and an orthodontist (the services of both will be required). The oral surgeon can check your coverage for you.
