Some ideas: Psychotherapy and medications have been shown over and over again in research to help with clinical depression. Consult with a psychologist for therapy and a psychiatrist for medication. You can also try exercising regularly, drinking less alcohol (and getting treatment if your alcohol consumption is a problem), making new friends, connecting or reconnecting with a faith community.
