Rexall sleep aid 25mg rapid release caplets. will it help you fall asleep or will it hurt?

Sleep: The active ingredient in rexall sleep aid is Diphenhydramine (benadryl). Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is an anti-histamine and, as the name implies, the counteract the effect of histamines. Histamine is a neurotransmitter associated with wakefulness and vigilance. If you counteract it, it causes drowsiness and sleep. I would use it only as needed, though.
