Decrease scarring.: All cuts that are deep will result in scarring but scars can be minimized by some basic management a/cleanse wound to get rid of any debri or foreign material b/approximate wound edges and maintain that symmetric coaptation with the least amount of external tension on the skin/mucosa c/use the thinnest suture appropriate for repair & then remove skin sutures early d/covered/antibiotic dressings.

Try these tips: 1. Scar massage daily. 2. Stay out of the sun 3. Use a silicone-based scar treatment, like kelocoat or prosil or silicone sheeting. 4. See a dermatologist or plastic surgeon for laser tx, if the scars are very red. 5. Use hydroquinone cream if the scars are very brown in colour.
