Salicylic acid -acne: Salicylic acid is a very reasonable daily treatment for acne management. It is unlikely to do anything for scarring or for hyper pigmentation. There are some topical skin lighteners that can help with this. Laser treatments can also help with scarring and pigment. Some benefit from a more robust regimen for acne (retin a; benzoyl peroxide; facials/microderm; pdt; laser; etc...) -get help if needed.

No: Stridex and many other over the counter acne treatments can be more harm than good. They can result in skin irritation and paradoxical increase in oil production. A skin care expert (dermatologist or facial plastic surgeon) can evaluate your skin and give you a treatment plan to improve your acne. Gentle cleansers, retin-a, chemical peels, laser treatments and sunscreen tend to be highly effective.
