May need Surgery: Chronic back is sometimes very debilitating and frustrating condition. Have you had an mri. See a neurosurgeon. If surgery is indicated other treatment modalities include physical therapy, use of tens machine, proper body alligment, ultrasonic massage , pain pills and muscle relaxants. Results from any of this including surgery and spinal steroids injections are variable.
