My son has keiloids on his chest. we visited dematologist 2yrs ago. he injected each an everyone with steroids almost 6 months. due to pain my son couldnt take the pain. we stop. is their a procedure we're we can remove them. or laser. permanently. ?

No known treatment: I understand laser has not been as effective as we thought. There are clinical trials with interferon injection showing promise but final results are not out. Hence if the keloids are not progressing just hold off and talk to your dermatologist see about interferon. I have used topical 5FU which is a chemotherapy drug available in the topical form with partial response with no side effects

On occasion surgery is done but must be followed by radiation. Simply excising a keloid usually results in a larger keloid. Non-invasive lasers such as the pulsed dye laser may be helpful.
