For exam,,,: This is a biopsy taken by a cylindrical blade that can take out a core or tube of your marrow. This can be examined in the pathology lab under a microscope to determine the pattern and cellularity. This would likely be your best initial test of your bone marrow to see if it looks normal or if there is disease there. That way it can be decided if other tests are needed. Good luck.

Two kinds of bone ma: There are two different ways to get a sample of the bone marrow. One is called bone marrow aspirate and the other one is called bone marrow biopsy(trephine). It seems that they may have done just a aspiration of the bone marrow initially. Biopsy is essential in some conditions like you might have and not required in others like in acute leukemia.
