Symptomatic tx: It is generally felt that only severe cases, which do not respond to analgesics and anti-inflammatory medications, require surgery. Short of surgery, certain anticonvulsants and antidepressants can be tried. Local anesthetic shots can also be used. If none of that works, surgery is likely to be the only option.

Only surgical: A partial styloidectomy is the treatment. If you are going to live with the neck pain, sore throat -type pain, etc. And do everything to avoid surgery, please make sure that you do not have the vascular form because impingement on your carotid can have serious and deadly consequences.
