Blood Loss: No pregnancy and delivery is without risk, and that includes the risk of blood loss at delivery. A vaginal delivery offer less blood loss in general versus a cesearan section. A c-section is a major abdominal surgery, but is a safe and effective method done very commonly today due to several different circumstances. The practitioner knows your iron needs.

Common prob: Having low iron doesn't make you bleed more, it does however decrease your hemoglobin and that increases your risk of needing blood. Take your iron supplement and eat iron rich foods and know that a fair percentage of pregnant women are in the same boat!

Bleeding risk: Bleeding risk does not have anything to do with the level of your iron or hemoglobin. Even at the normal level of you iron, hemoglobin- there is always a risk for bleeding associated to your labor. Having said that, you would have more energy when you are not anemic so hopefully you can push better and shorten the duration of labor. The iron is also useful for the fetal growth. Best of luck.
