23 years: Generally age 23 is the usual cut off as the eyes change too much prior to that age to allow for stability of the eye power. Lasik can be quite effective although there are limits to the power (usually -10 or above). The usual side effects are not quite enough power and eye dryness and a few more rare issues usually reversible. Discuss with a lasik surgeon in your area.
