Stability and age: The key here is stability and age. Most surgeons wait until the patient is past early 20's when a lot of change in the eye is still occurring. Plus your refraction should be stable for several years, that is your glasses prescription has not changed. I don't do lasik , I am an oculoplastic surgeon, but we refer people out for this operation and these are the parameters we use.
