Medical information: When seeing a new outpatient psychiatrist, you must sign a release in order for him or her to receive information about you. If you're in a hospital, psychiatrists participating in your care will all have access to your ongoing medical chart as it develops. Still, there may be things you've never told any of them -- and they cannot know these things without your sharing them.
