What would doctors recommend to help with runny nose?

Identify trigger: The cause of runny nose can be from the common cold, allergies, sinus infection, irritants such as cleaning chemicals or smoke or very rarely leaking spinal fluid. Because the treatment for each of these is different, it is best to see an allergist or ENT doctor to make the correct diagnosis, so specific treatment can be offered. If an antihistamine makes it better, think allergies!
