A member asked:

Will a ent doctor recommend a nose job ever?

Sure: Sure, but if it considered plastic surgery, insurance will not cover it. If you also need septal reconstructive surgery, that portion will be covered by insurance , but the plastic surgery cosmetic portion will not be.

Not sure of question: Ent and plastic surgeons frequently do rhinoplasties or nose jobs. So yes ents may recommend them. If you are asking if hey recommend them to get insurance to pay this is only usually done to treat airway problems or perhaps after a fracture. If you justwant the hump removed because you don't like the look the doctor can recommend all he wants but your insurance is not going to pay.

Yes: Especially if the nose is bent and there is an associated breathing problem. See your doctor but make sure they are experienced in rhinoplasty.

Not unless desired: A nose job, in the colloquial sense, is an elective cosmetic procedure. If you don't complain about concerns with your nasal appearance, it's unlikely your ENT will recommend this out of the blue. That is not their typical role. Their position is to treat medical conditions that you report when coming to see them. If however, you ask for a recommendation, they will be happy to provide a referral
