Throat burning: There are only a few things that cause the throat to burn. First is reflux (stomach contents going backwards up your esophagus) and the second is post-nasal drip. Post nasal drainage can sometimes be quite irritating, but it usually doesn't burn. If there is infection, though, it could burn. What burns more is acid reflux. When you lay down, it's easier for reflux to come up should get eval.
