Depends: It depends: normally we suggest against any exercise that causes pain while performing it. If you have an ankle injury, try doing non weight bearing, upper body exercises until your ankle feels better. Elliptical trainer is one wt. Bearing exercise that, as long as you keep your feet flat, you may find non painful. Good luck.
